Until last year I was special educational needs learning assistant. I've worked with children with physical disabilities and behavioural issues. I'm now at University studying Psychology and criminology and want to continue working with children, before and after they caught up in the justice system.

I have changed my mind so many times throughout the years and I am still doing nothing. First I wanted to be a Pediatric Nurse, but was scared stupid after one of my nieces had to go through a major surgery the day after she was born. It was hard seeing her with all those needles and tubes stuck to her.

Then I wanted to be a teacher, but after working at a high school for about 7 years I kinda changed my mind again. And it wasn't so much the kids, there is just too much politics in schools now. There is no traditional education, like I remember when I was in school.

Then I went to work for a temp agency and really liked it, Human Resource type of work seemed real interesting. But because of the way one of the owners did things, like sneaky, cheating the system things, I changed my mind again.

So now I'm working at a police department. I have the unfortunate pleasure of reading and seeing all about the horrible crimes out there. Reading and seeing stuff that is being done to children is not something just anybody can stomach. Especially when there's pictures attached. But I am still learning allot and am motivated to stay here and learn more. I've even brought up the idea of child protective services type of work, or victims' services. We'll see.

Now ask me again in a year and I'll probably be thinking of something else..

I qualified as a beauty therapist and did an anatomy and physiology degree and then working the salons for a few years, I never enjoyed make-up and doing people's nails (the "pretty treatments") and started to look into complimentary therapies. Sadly I broke my arm and I had to take another job til that got better, so I ended up as a receptionist in an office, I've been doing reception for 10 years but am now looking to study Indian Head Massage and Reiki so I can get back into alternative therapies.
