I am not a Filipino, I do not think that this is racist at all. I do think it's funny and maybe a little insulting to the Filipino's but come on don't you guys make the same sort of jokes on your shows.
We had a Filipina actress/singer do a show here in Australia, this week. During her talk session she made fun of the Aussie accent was this racist, heck no, was it funny sure was.
It's a pity that Filipino's can't get this agitated about the political scene in their country.
I would agree that this can be considered as an insult but is it against Pinoy doctors or Filipino's in general or is it an accusation that fake Diplomas, certificates etc. are obtainable for a fee in the Philippines. If, as I think, they are then maybe this is what the show is having a go at. And , if this is so, shouldn't all this indignation be aimed at this situation.

It's an insult to medical schools in the Philippines, yes. If you would rather have your brain tumor or the brain tumor of your child removed by the phils doctor rather than the German or US doctor that's up to you. It's just a dumb TV show, there are nine million other things more important to get upset about.

While I do agree that this can be considered an insult, if you really think about it, this isn't based on a real person's views, more like it was said by a character who is meant to be obnoxious. Don't get too upset about it. ^_^

That was funny and I agree. When I was in the Philippines I broke my leg while hiking. The wonderful doctors there wanted to amputate my leg. Luckily I had met an American doctor on the trip over. He gave me his cell phone number and I called him. He came to where I was in Butuan and set the leg. Even my Filipino wife and all her friends that have come here to the USA hate the doctors in the Philippines, and they all say never trust them.
My wife's neice died from a head injury because the doctors there refused to treat her because the family did not have 10,000 pesos to pay before he would treat her. That 3 year old suffered for 4 days before she died. By the way, it was before I met my wife that it happened, because I would have paid.

it was said my a CHARACTER in a TV show...which means it wasn't said by a REAL PERSON...yes, it was in bad taste but we all know better - about our own doctors and the quality of education we have in our country, where i myself was educated. so no, i'm not offended because i don't give any credence to it.

I would not take it too serious, it is Soap Opera and appeals to people who sit idle at home instead of working or looking for a job. . . . .BTW she did not look Pinay to me
