I only think that Reyes should get traded maybe if he has a bad year next year.
And another great lead-off hitter is Jimmy Rollins!!

I see the people saying Reyes is the best leadoff hitter. How about Jimmy Rollins? Rollins is the better player all around at shortstop in the NL.

Well, I'd be loathe to trade him, as he is young, has tremendous talent and a good contract. However, his reversion to is prior habits was alarming. I don't know how much was Rickey's fault, but by the end of the year, he wasn't even the second-best shortstop in the NL East. The Mets have to decide if they're willing to gamble that he'll turn it around, and, if they trade him, who do they replace him with? The Twins should be happy to do the deal, as Reyes has a couple of years left on the relatively cheap contract he signed, and they know they'll never be able to keep Santana after next year. Of course, the Mets shouldn't do it unless Santana signs a new deal first. At this point, I'd do it. Young ace pitchers are harder to come by than leadoff hitters and shortstops.

This question has come up earlier today and my answer will be the same. The Twins would love to be able to keep Santana but they might not be able to offer him the money he is looking for. If the Twins can't afford Santana than how in the world can they afford to sign someone like Reyes to a long term contract? It is not as simple as you make it out to be and blockbuster deals like the one you are suggesting seldom occur.

Jose Reyes isn't going anywhere. He is young and needs to be "better coached" I think you will see a new man next season.

Milledge, however, has to go; and I believe he'll be packaged with Heilman and maybe Humber. Their first priority is a #1 starter, and this year, I think Omar gets his man.

I would hate to see Reyes go, but if we could get Santana for him, I would do it in a heartbeat. You can always get good hitting, but you can't always get great pitching.

jose reyes is nothing more than a young luis castillo, he cant hit for power ad all he does is steal bases. He choked when the team neaded him.

as good as that commerce would be (for the Mets besides, the Blue Jays would in truth shoot themselves interior the foot in the event that they went by using with this commerce) that's going to by no ability take place. till the mets grant Johan Santana (that still will by no ability take place) the Jays would by no ability deliver Halladay to manhattan(Mets).
