Our baby is due on Valentine's Day, and his name will be Noah. I'm trying to come up with middle names for this and would like some suggestions. Please don't tell me how much you hate that name or that it's over-rated or too popular: it's my husband's middle name and has a lot of meaning for us, and that's what we're going with. I'm not looking for approval, just suggestions! Our last name is Smith, if that helps. Thanks in advance for all answers.

Thank so far! Some of these are nice. To the person who said make him a Junior: sorry, that's not gonna happen. Daddy is already a Junior, and we had a lot of problems with his parents' stuff showing up on our credit report because of it. I don't want my kid to have to go through that someday.

I don't generally go in for the "theme" type names, but the fact that we're also due on Valentine's Day pushed Angus even further up our list (it was already a consideration, but also happens to be the Irish god of love). ;) Wouldn't work for everyone, but since we loved it anyway, the meaning was an added bonus.

I also love the fact that you're giving him your husband's middle name -- regardless of popularity ;) -- without making him a junior (thus also giving him another name all his own). Always a great idea, for the very reasons you've mentioned! ;)

Since you've obviously already dealt with the common factor of Noah Smith, perhaps a less expected middle name might appeal (to help balance the popularity and give him the option of using both to differentiate should there ever be any confusion -- in school, work, etc.). Obviously I'd stick with something equally classic, perhaps along the lines of ...

Sebastian - not un-popular -- it is on the bottom end of the top 100, after all -- but the first that came to mind. Seemed a natural fit. LOL

Just trying to toss out a few with different styles/feels. A three-syllable middle name would balance out Noah and Smith particularly well, by the way. ;) Good luck!

Names starting with "O" or "W" will flow well with the middle sounds in Noah.
Something like:
Noah Wesley Smith
Noah Willard Smith
Noah William Smith

Or, for some commonly liked combinations you could try:
Noah Grant
Noah Orlando
Noah Michael
Noah Ryan
Noah Thomas
Noah Lee
Noah Benjamin
Noah James
Noah Caleb
Noah John
Noah Fredrick
Noah Samuel
Noah Devlin
Noah Edward
Noah Gabriel
Noah Isaac
Noah Jared
Noah Matthew
Noah Patrick
Noah Daniel
Noah Dean

Hope that helps! :)

Our family always passes down names as well : husband was nathan andrew, son is brian andrew. Noah is a great name, but putting another biblical name as the middle would be kind of "over-kill" don't you think? How about Noah Sebastian, or Noah Alexander? if his first and last name are short, I would throw a longer middle name in there lol. Good luck!! =]
