For now, buy a sleep positioner. But he'll eventually get used to lying on his belly too. Do you let him play on his belly a lot? It's important to do that so he can strengthen his neck and arms.

THere is an answer here that says to use a sleep positioner. While this is a good idea when they are younger, my ped at my daughters 4 mo appointment said to discontinue use of this because now that shes moving so much there should be nothing in the crib that can cause injury or can cause them to suffocate. My daughter at 4 mos could easily wiggle her way out of one of those anyway. and by the way- shes almost 5 months now and is doing the same thing as yours- I think if they are stuck, we should help them get to their backs again.

My daughter started doing this at 3 months. she would roll over and then not be able to roll back. I would have to do the same thing put her back on her back. It will just take time to work itself out. Your child will still roll over and you will have to put him back on his back. There is nothing else you can do but wait for him to do it on his own. Hope it comes sooner than later for you!! Hope you get some sleep

Not really sure what your question is...are you wanting to keep him on his back? If he does not have a sleep positioner you may want to try one of those. My daughter is four months old and still sleeps with hers, it is adjustable in size. Try the Airflow Sleep Positioner.

He'll learn to get over it, and to flip himself over only if you leave him alone.

Its normal. They naturally do this in their sleep and then wake themselves up. Leave him to figure it out, or else be ready to go in with him and put him down every night from here on.

So???? Don't stand there and watch him. Infants are simply small adults, and they learn very quickly how to get attention. However, keep a private eye on him to make sure he continues to breath. One more thing. Relax.

if you really dont want him to flip over nestle him in a little better, but MAKE SURE there is nothing near his face or he may suffocate himself. put a pillow next to his legs on either side as to hold him in
