Well, I added a different wireless card with an external antenna. That allows a lot more coverage area than any of the built in systems. The card itself is almost 5 times the power of the internal and with the external antenna it has a normal range of about 1000 feet. If I add a directional antenna, I have been able to use it at a couple of miles with AP's that are outdoors!
