I cant believe this! well actualy i can expect this from bush. I cant wait until 2009! I guess Iraq is more important than our american children. You know with all the money he has spent on the war all of us could have had some form of medical coverage at no cost..just saying ....BUSH needs to get out of the white house! lol im just venting!

The legislation presented to the President would have allowed free medical care to the children of parents who earn up to $83,000 a year. Hardly the working poor that the program was designed for.
The President isn't the one who asks for a raise in the debt limit. That is done by the Congress so they can appropriate money that really isn't there. It permits the government to borrow the money.

Yes he did.
I also just heard his weak speach he gave in Lancaster PA this morning.
He also claimed that the bill was so involved that it would take everyone off private medicine and under government control.
He ALSO said the bill was designed for POOR children, not POOR parents. Um...if the children are poor, doesn't that mean... um
oh man, i'm losing 20 points of intelligence commenting on it.
I'm not familiar w/the bill but I'm sure it was a turn in the right direction.

somethin like that. im usually ok with bush, but i couldn't believe he would veto a bill that would provide healt insurance to children like mine where we make too much for medicaid but not enough to be able to afford private. i got lucky and found a job where my boss pays for it, but if i were to lose my job or something my children would no longer get coverage because we cant afford it! i think he actually claimed something about those children weren't as important as the really poor children on medicaid and he didnt want that plan to end up getting extended to adults too. i think he said "poor children first" i could be mistaken though

He supports the current program, and an extension of it, but not an expansion of the program which covers children in families that earn as much as $103,000. Regrettably, it is the Democrat's grandstanding political posture that is jeopardizing continued coverage for impoverished families.
