no wayy, my mom did that, and trust me, its the worst thing u could do, i felt betrayed.

No way!! I wouldn't do it because I wouldn't want someone to read mine. I have a diary that I have kept and written in since I was 12 years old.......and I'm 28 now.
All my deepest, darkest secrets are in that diary. Even my husband knows that it's off limits......he hasn't read it yet and we've been married almost 8 years. Trust me! I would know if he had read it....I would be divorced by now if he had.

It might just make things worse or make your worry about them even more because you've read something that you've never known about them before.
If they found out you read it, it would ruin all trust there ever was between you and they would't care if you were worried about them and wanted to help or not. So it would not be a good idea at all.

I do respect the privacy of a diary but if there was a serious issue I probably would read it.

I am the one responsible for the well being of my household, and as such, it is my duty to keep my family safe. Sometjmes they don`t agree, but thats too bad.If they put themselves into a dangerous position, I will do what I have to, to protect them.So, YES.
