In my town there was just a horrible house fire....supposedly a 10 year old boy set a fire..."it was intentionally set but the outcome was not"...resulting in 3 children(mother is still alive, childless) and his own mother and sister dying in it. He was in a house of "supposed" drug addicts and his father just died in July from full blown aids...They are trying him with 5 counts of murder and 1 count of aggrevated arson...my question is what do you think his punishment should be? Keep in mind he is 10 and most of us has been curious about fire when we were younger...

This is the kind of tragedy that has no good outcome. Nonetheless, given his age and his probable inability to really consider possible outcomes(and thus to fully premeditate his actions), the boy will most likely deserve what he gets: incarceration in a juvenile facility until he turns 21.

Curiosity about fire should not result in multiple deaths. His actions should be addressed. However, they need to look at the deeper issue of his disturbed mind. He should not be treated as a bad seed. He should be treated as someone who is crying for help. It sounds to me as if is life has not been a good one.
