If you never had the "bad" gloomy times you would have no contrast.

People who feel the deepest pain have the capacity to feel the greatest joy.

If life has been hard, you appreciate it more when it isn't as hard! If you have NO money, you appreciate the £5. If you already had loads of money £5 seems insignificant.

Life is all a contrast. Darkness and light, Night and day. Joy and pain. Happiness and sadness.

Through the bad times you learn, you grow and develop. You find strength.

I agree with Angel - u have to be down at some point to appreciate being happy... Life is hard man, it really is. The good stuff - it's there but the bad stuff, that seems to be everywhere... The bad stuff helps us appreciate the good things.

It can't always be one way all of the time or life would be boring, and you'd hate that much worse than the ups and downs I guarantee. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

When my mom was living I was going over there to help her for 9 years, 3 times a day, or find some help to do it.
It got overwhelming because she was slowly deteriorating. And it was hard for me to know that she was not going to get better.
There was messes to clean up, pick her up when she fell (that took more help that I had to find).
It was very depressing and overwhelming because it was my responsibility, totally.
She died in 2006 and I miss her the way she used to be when she was vibrant.
