Just the other day I was in a store with my boyfriend when a salesman came up and tried to start a conversation. He made banter and I made banter...then he just walked away. My boyfriend just looked at me and laughed. I had killed the guys self-esteem with every comment and look that I had made in his direction and never missed a beat....and didn't realize what I was doing until my boyfriend pointed it out. I was embarassed and felt horrible. The guy was nice looking and professional. He didnt deserve what I did. So it can happen to any of us!!! My boyfriend was nice enough to point out that the salesman was probably going to go home and cry himself to sleep... : ( But I'm the sweetest person youll meet and I love to make you laugh....go figure!

well, you have made the first step by admitting this to yourself...
what you need to do is watch what comes out of your mouth. when someone is already crying it is sometimes to late to say "i am sorry" cuz they are gonna think you are sorry... like a sorry sack of sh**. and thats ok, cuz if you act like a jerk, it is your fault,, but you are a bigger person for owning up to it know. just think before you speak.

More the opposite... I sincerely believe I'm a jerk, but my friends or other people I hang out with won't ever tell me... Either I'm really good at leading a double-life (so good that I even confuse myself) or I'm really not a jerk.

It is easy think before you talk. If it would bother you it will bother them. Although sometimes what you think is nice sometimes hurts others. If you hurt someones feeling be sure to apologize, so they know you meant no harm.

Who was it that said: "It's better to shut up and let people think you're a jerk, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"? I tend to be a quiet person...

no way ! If im a jerk to you , its because I got tired of your crap. Us nice people get walked on way too much and if we have to be mean , then its because of someone mistreating us too much

Andy Warhol said it, ONLY IN PART:
we all get 15 MINUTES OF FAME, for sure, but we get MORE THAN 15 MINUTES OF JERKDOM, too.
I like to think I'll get a few of luxurious passion, of reverie, of exquisite peace, of elegance, and a few more things..lol.

Sometimes people just say things that are as dumb as dirt. It could be the people you work with and just want to be left alone. That is why I work alone and am medicated
