that a person when they turn 18 can legally enter a contract ie loan, lease, etc., buy cigarettes, vote criminals or potential criminals into office on local state and federal levels, be tried as an adult, and serve in the military, but are not mature enough to buy alcohol?

Because an 18 year old drunk driver is more dangerous than all of the above.

The question you ask has nothing to do with maturity, it has everything to do with special interests in government. The reason is because of the Christian 'moral majority' push for the elimination of alcohol..think prohibition..Same reason there are so called Sin Taxes on Alcohol, gambling and tobacco and liquor stores are closed on Sundays.

I guess a 21 year old drunk driver is safer than an 18 year old drunk driver, and a 90 year old drunk driver is safer than anyone huh?

If you have to ask that question, then you aren't mature enough to drink because you have not learned the dangers.
