NY Governor Elliot Spitzer is pushing to grant illegal immigrants a valid NYS driver's license.?

1. because NYS needs the additional funds in the DMV and;

2. Then illegals will be able to get insurance, thereby lowering the cost of the uninsured fund.

There will be a question that follows, however I want to point out this is liberalism at its finest:
Create a problem so immense, do nothing about it until it is such an overburden on tax payers and then just move to legalize the illegal activity in the name of helping the average citizen.
Does Spitzer realize (a) illegals can get a valid license from their own country and then (b) transfer that license to an international license thereby making themselves legal to drive here, and purchase insurance?
Because you know damn well the driving test in NY will be given in Spanish, which for the life of me I don't understand because all our road signs are STILL WRITTEN IN ENGLISH.
So why is it that the liberal way of dealing with an illegal activity is to just legalize the activity?
Why, if anyone knows, is Gov. Spitzer SELLING US OUT?

While you make some good points you have forgotten one very important one. If illegal aliens are allowed to receive NYS drivers licenses it will mean that every single citizen in the State of New York will no longer be able to use their drivers license as the requisite photo ID to board an airplane.

Only states that adhere to strict guidelines regarding the issuing of DL's are acceptable.

Heck, a few months ago I had to present my passport to get my New Jersey License RENEWED! I am and have always been a citizen of the United States. I already had a NJ photo drivers license yet I had to present my passport and another piece of ID to just renew my license.

He feels they can then vote and they will vote for him or his party. Catholics are for it because they feel they will get more parishoners and get more money. By the way I'm a Democrat who is Catholic. This is simple Illegal means breaking the Law. immigrants like Italians that came to this country through ellis island had to be sponsered by someone in America, they were examined for diseases, isolated if sick until healthy, backgrounds checked if a criminal sent back.They learned our language and only spoke their native language at home, the became U.S. Citizens by our laws.
