Fans only please....Are you a fan of the Dixie Chicks? Did you like them before their latest CD "Taking the Long Way" or are you a new fan? Have you seen the movie "Shut Up & Sing" and what did you think of it?
I've been a fan since 1999, I didn't like them at first because I thought they were very overrated, but then I listened to them--they write their own songs and play their own instruments, and Natalie Maines has the most AMAZING voice. I love their latest CD, I think it's their best by far and I am SO GLAD they are still around. I look forward to more music from them.
I saw the movie a few weeks ago and I loved it--a very interesting story of how the media controls our airwaves and televisions...hopefully not our minds.
If you're not a fan, please move on to the next question.

I liked them but was not a huge fan. I got interested in them because I have a niece who is a huge fan. A couple years ago I saw them on Austin City Limits and became a full fledged fan. They are HOT. Great music, great vocals, and do they know how to play their instruments. Many in the country world who criticize them are posers who pass electric rock n roll with a southern accent off as country and western. I've never been a big country fan, but I'd say songs with good vocals, an acoustic guitar, and a fiddle are more genuinely country than the crap put out by the likes of Toby Keith.

Dixie Chicks are fantastic and I support their position on the Pig Farmer!
I also support anybody's right to criticize any government on the planet, especially ours.

i've loved the dixie chicks since wide open spaces! such a talented and original group of girls. i havent seen the movie but i will now.

I really don't know anything about their music - but I admire them greatly for having the guts to tell the truth and not back down when viciously attacked.
They rock!

i'm a fan because if more americans were like them we wouldn't be at war in iraq - which is completely useless and does nothing for american security.
