5 ft 8 for a girl is tall. 5 ft 8 for a guy is a tad on the short side but Ive seen shorter!

If your a man it's a little on the short side. If your a woman it's a couple inches above average.

Neither, that would be average in my opinion, petite is under 5'2". Short is a matter of opinion.

Whaaaat ? It's just right for guys. I'm 5'9". It's not considered either short or petite. That's maybe 5'2" and shorter.

5'8" for a girl is probably just above average. Petite - if you are small boned and slim I would say you are petite.

For a man, you would be three inches shorter than average. For a female you would be four inches taller than average. I am 5'8" and I feel pretty tall.
