Sadly enough, it sounds like he has his mind made up already. Who wouldn't want the benefits of a wife he already knows who just might not be giving out enough sex...especially when he has someone on the side who will do it with him with no obvious strings attached? And for 10 years? I'm sorry to say that unless the wife decides that she wants to divorce HIM, chances are he doesn't really want to go anywhere. Not that your friend isn't a wonderful and lovely person, but sometimes it's more comfortable to stay in a marriage that you've known for so long.
When she chose to be a Mistress, she waived all rights to have this man in her life forever. She can't ask him to choose the wife or her...she has not right to do that.

Why is she lowering her standards to seeing a married man, does she not think she is good enough? Or is it she feels safe because he is married then she doesn't have to make any commitments. Truthfully she needs to get on with her life & find a man who is faithful, not a cheater like the one she is seeing now, I mean if he is cheating on his wife with her, who else is he cheating with?
How would she feel if she was married & found her man cheating with another woman? It is wrong, very wrong, think about his wife, I know he is probable telling her all kinds of bad things about her, but come on. It gets him what he wants by saying it & it may not even be true, but who cares he gets his "no commitment, free piece of rump."

I guess I'm the only one with the testicular fortitude to call you out on this. There is no "friend". You need to either resign yourself to being a plaything for him, or find a man of your own. Get a life, while you're at it.

Baby...It's not your friend's bf that needs to make up his mind. It's your friend who needs to make up her mind and stay away from this relationship. I know it's easier to say than do it. But she CAN do it!!! It's best to cut all tides at once and never go back in order to achieve this situation. Best of strong will to your friend. She deserves better!!!

He already has. When you involve yoruself with a married man, you get what's left...it's a pathetic state to be in. Very few men leave their wives for the mistress, and while she's at home clone Christmas morning, he's with his family.

He already has made up his mind. He is staying with his wife. Your friend should get out now.

I agree with the first answer. After a decade, he ain't gonna budge, you know the old saying, Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free????
He's had it both ways even if she did end it, he'd just find another women.

After 10 years, nothing is going to change. Unless he dumps her for a new mistress...
