Not quit Sherylynne, Ewell holds that distinction of not filling TJ's boots. Early was a division commander under Ewell at Gettysburg. I'm not sure what influence he had on the Civil War. He did mak a made dash at Washington DC during the final months of the war, but his under sized outfit made little headway.

If I remember my history correctly he was half of the replacement for the fallen Thomas 'Stonewall ' Jackson. He was not nearly the leader Jackson was and made several errors in judgment including one at Gettysburg that could have changed the outcome of the battle and the war.
