Limbaugh, in response to a caller complaining about the media's tauting of fake soldiers who never served in Iraq but claim they did and now speak out against the war as media darlings said "Oh, you're talking about the phony soldiers"
The caller hung up and Limbaugh went on to exemplify ONE soldier in particular named Jesse Macbeth, who IS indeed a phony soldier. I was listening at the time and the thought never crossed my mind that Rush meant that all serving soldiers who disagree with the Bush Doctrine are fake patriots or phony soldiers.

Congratulations!!! You are the 1,000,000th person to post this today! You win a free subscription for life to the Rush Limbaugh radio show.
I was going to pass on this question that has been beaten to death already until I read cornbreads mutilation of the facts. It is ironic that those defending Rush are distorting what he actually said in an effort to protect him. I think there is a reasonable reading of the transcript that could go either way. He should have simply clarified it, said this is what I meant and I apologize if anyone took it any other way. Instead he doctored the transcript, doctored the tape and went on his own little propaganda mission. Then again, he is laughing all the way to the bank on this one isn't he?
The bottom line, who cares. I don't think the senate should be wasting time on this and I don't think we should be wasting time on this. Rush says things every day that are far more offensive to me than that.

So once again Rush makes a remark, someone takes it out of context, and it riles up some people. His view on Bush's recent veto should really send spin doctors into overdrive. My favorite from him is his "no mas" video regarding immigration. I'm surprised the lesbian femnists haven't done to Tom Lykis what was done to Don Imus. When will people learn that any strong counterpoint even if incorrect will only better validate the correct side. Radio hosts play both sides often to boost ratings. The act of censoring any view only gives strength to those that want free speech removed entirely whether they realize it or not.

Never has anyone slandered the troops. So let's begin with that piece of propaganda. The fact you are here trying to defend the likes of Limbaugh says the rest.

Sounds like typical Liberal tactics to me. They don't care about the truth. They don't care about our country. They care only about winning the election and the power that comes from it.

There are plenty of links to the audio why not provide one so they can listen for themselves?

[It seems that liberals are banking on the idea that you won't investigate what he REALLY said, and are lying to get you to believe something that is not true.]
Why the alert? Libs are always doing that kind of thing.

Don't really care what "Rush" said. He is a entertainer and I use that term loosely. I'd take advice from him about as fast as I would from any other entertainer... Which is, never.

hes said "phony soldiers" and was not talking to his caller mike about any particular soldier until much later in the conversation. whats is there to misunderstand?
i encourage everyone to find and read the actual transcript and decide for yourself. dont listen to anyone here. to me it is obvious that Rush is back peddling on this one to save and/or cover his own @ss
