For men, dress shoes are always more fashionable. Boots bring an air of the west into the outfits; something that you're not going to want to do a lot of the time. Unless it's a square-toed flat boot, I tend to stay away from boots...

For women, usually shoes, but for Fall/Winter 2007, ankle boots are in. You can pair the ankle boots with a knee length skirt, a sailor trouser, or a cute pair of jeans.
