Yes, I would and I have. I did it the other day at the aquarium, too.

I breastfeed in public all the time. I have breastfed everywhere from cafes, to the movie theater, walking around target, and at restaurants. Whenever my baby is hungry, I feed him no matter where we are. I would never make him wait. He hates a blanket over his head, so I will wear a camisole under my clothes and just lift the shirt up and the cami down and latch him on. You don't see a thing, you see more skin on high school girls walking around the mall.

If my daughter is screaming in hunger, I'll feed her where ever I want. It is easy to feed discreetly in public (I have done it and people didn't even know). I am actually a very shy, conservative person, but when my baby is hungry, I'll do what I have to! Where I live, there are many breastfeeding rooms, which is wonderful. They are quiet and private, so you and your baby can relax. However, I've been in some breastfeeding rooms that were no better than a bathroom stall (filthy and small). In that case, I'd rather just find a quiet corner of the mall with a bench where I can feed my daughter under a light blanket.

I was unfortunately unable to breastfeed my 2 eldest but my 6 month baby is still being breastfed. I feed anywhere and everywhere, (and yes that does mean in the middle of the sermon without leaving my seat), and the majority of the time people don't even realise I'm feeding they just think my son is sleeping!! Those who do realise what I'm doing are normally the people I'm out with.

I had one person tell me I shouldn't be feeding him in public and I calmly made direct eye contact with them and asked them where I should feed? She told me I should go into the toilets, so I asked her to bring her meal into the toilet and sit in the cubicle next to me to talk to me and keep my company!! She told me that would be plain disgusting!!

She started complaining really loudly to her friend and so I asked the waiter if they could reseat them as I wasn't in a position to move, the waiter looked at me and had to be told what I was doing because he hadn't noticed!! Strangely though the restaurant we were in was a family restaurant with a sign on the door saying they welcomed breastfeeding!!!

I wouldn't because im a shy person but i have no objections to other people doing it. The other day we were in a cafe & for the first time i saw a mother breastfeeding right out in the open, i wasn't offended & neither was my hubby but we respected what she was doing and looked away. It seemed like the most natural thing, how anyone can say its wrong is beyond me.

Yes, all 3. Sometimes i felt uncomfortable, depended where I was and peoples reactions - 14 and a half years ago i was asked to go to the toilet with my first in my local pub - I was devastated and never went there again.

You should see some peoples reactions if the babies are no longer tiny but toddlers! (my youngest 2 have been fed til past 2years, I would still allow them daytime feeds up to 2 years, that really shocks some people in some places)

Yes, I breastfed both my babies in public, even when they were over a year old. By the time my second son was born in 1998 it was becoming more common, but I was one of the first to breastfeed in public when I first became a mother in 1994. I never had any problems. Nobody ever asked me to stop.

Yes I did with both mine. If anyone has a problem with it it's their problem not mine. Nobody wants to have to feed in public, but sometimes it's just necessary. The alternative is to stay indoors with the baby and never go out for the first six months, and that's clearly not an option. Small babies are unpredictable and you can't always tell when they're going to be hungry.

I can't understand people who say women shouldn't do it in public as they don't want to see it. If you don't like it don't look. It's not as if women are openly flashing their naked breasts. Most are usually discreet about it and there's nothing to see.

OK....calm....rant over.

Breastfeeding is perfectly natural. Babies usually get hungry when their mommies are eating. If the babies source of food comes from mom are u going to make them wait because you are in a public place? It can be a more embarrassing experience not to feed them than to do it in public, think about how u feel when you are hungry and can't eat:) But really it all depends on the mom's comfort level as well as the person with her. keep in mind she needs your support.

Good on your gf!!

Yes I do breastfeed in public. We went out for a meal for my other half's birthday yesterday and I breastfed my son in the resturant. I keep myself covered up and don't "flop them out" at all! Theres no need to!

I see no reason to be embarrassed. Its the most natural thing in the world. If people don't like it then noones forcing them to watch!!!

I would...and I have :)

I was a bit horrified to try when my oldest was real young, I was certain an evil stranger would go off on a rant lol...but it never happened and the longer I breastfed, the more comfortable I became.

I have always been very modest about nursing in public, for my own sake! I used a receiving blanket for a while (which was pretty awkward) and finally upgraded to a nursing sling...which was fantastic!!
