Not usually, else why would you give up your parenting rights. Normally, when you give up your children, that is that. Often the rights are given up so a step parent can adopt.
Each state is different, call your local legal aid. They should have a definitive answer for Kansas.

IF a person's parental rights are terminated by the court then yes and no. Any outstanding CS arrears remain due and payable. Any future support is voided.
You cannot give up something the court has sole and exclusive jurisdiction over.
TO LITTLE78LUCKY;
The situation you speak of is different. In such a situation, the state takes over 'possession' of the child and support is granted to the state. This is NOT the same as child support but a repayment to the state for services to the child.
Chid support, as stipulated in each state's statutes, is discontinued.
Also, in the above scenario, unless the state takes possession of the child, the parental rights are not severed until such time as an adoption is entered into. There are also cases where the state takes possession of the child for a brief moment until such time as the court allows the adoption and TPR action to join.
I suggest you read KSR §§ 13-1563(h), 38-1583, 38-1585

In most states it is the same. If a parents gives up his /her rights then there will not be any financial support. Which sometimes is better if that parent doesnt spend time with then anyway. I am going through the same thing. My ex hasnt seen or talked to my kids since June. And last year it was 10 mths. SO in my case it would be better for all of us if he went on his way. My husband nowif their Dad anyway. And then he could adopt them. Good Luck

hex i beg to differ with you i have seen numerous people lose or give up their parental rights and they still had to pay current child support every month until the child was adopted..that is why the asker put in his or her state because the rules are different for each state..sorry i dont know the answer for how your state decided that i only know how arizona and oregon do..in arizona you pay child support until the day the child is adopted (no matter how long that takes) and in oregon your child support stops when you no longer have parental rights
