Station is the position of your baby. Station 5 is when the baby is crowning, so -1 means the baby is in the birth canal, but not as far as possible, and probably not turned all the way. They move as labor progresses.

Effaced is the state of the cervix. When its closed, at 0% is hard and tight. When its softening its more like the lobe of your ear, or your inner cheek. 70% means its almost as soft as it can be. Once it reaches 100% you can dilate completely.

You're coming along great!

Effacement is the thinning out of your cervix. It is thick throughout labor and has to thin out before you can successfully bring a baby through it. The station describes how high or low your baby is - or how much it has entered into the birth canal. 0 is the starting point of the birth canal, and anything negative means that your baby hasn't entered the birth canal yet. Anything positive means that your baby has started making it's way through the birth canal.

How effaced you are is how thinned out your cervix is. By the time you deliver, you'll be 100% effaced or thinned out.

The baby's station refers to his/her position within your pelvis. How far she's dropped or how high she is would be her station.
