I'm going to have a baby girl and am looking for some unique yet pretty names. I am leaning toward old fashioned names like Sophia/Sophie, Grace, Ivy, etc but my boyfriend thinks they are detestable! I also like Shay. Any advice?

I think those names are beautiful!
Maybe you can compromise. I like Sophia Grace or Sophie Grace. Too cute!
Make up a list of 10 names that you like and have your boyfriend do that also. What's your favorite name on the list and what's his? If you can find a name on his list that you like and he can find one on yours you can have your name as the first name and his as the middle name or vice versa. Maybe you can decided on a hyphenated first name and a middle name that you can agree on.

If your bf likes more modern names just mix it up,like using traditional with modern...like these....oh and I like Shay so it could be used in place of some of these as well..>=)

Classic names are the best, and also with all the stupid trendy names out there now, your kid would probably be the only one in her class with her name. I love the name Sophie.
Shay is horrible as a first name, but as a nickname it could work with Shannon or Shana (but don't misspell it as Shayna, it just looks trendy).
