I wouldn't even suggest using the hospital pads while you're in the hospital ~ they are horrible! I've already packed my own!

I use Stayfree Overnight with Wings with the "NEW NIGHT-GUARD ZONE". They worked great after my 1st. They're long and have two sets of "wings" for good coverage. They're a lot thinner than the hospital pads and a lot more comfortable.

Good Luck!

What ever brand you get, get the overnight, long ones. Also, just personal opinion, but I like the ones with that are soft (Kotex I think). Always has a plastic covering, which I find uncomfortable. You might be wearing a pad for 6-8 weeks (scary, I know), so you'll have time to find which ones are the most comfortable for you.

You will use the hospital pads for the first day, they are awful by they work well!! Once you start moving around alot they are uselass, so you want the biggest you cna find, with bings ect. Stayfree makes overnights with wider back ends that have sticky tabs to protect from leaks when you lie down. Thats what I have packed.

Get cheap, ugly underwear. You will bleed on them, believe me!

The hospital pads are not very good... you might want to take you're own along to the hospital. Buy ones that are longer and have wings... Also, make sure you take some older panties to the hospital incase you have leakage... and don't wear your nice ones for a little bit when you get home.

Good luck, its temporary!

Purchase something extra-obsorbant, extra long, overnight type thing. At first you'll be changing them frequently. Also buy some lighter pads and liners, so that as it lightens you dont have to run out and buy the smaller ones.

AT the hospital they have you use two at a time, one towards the front and one towards the back.

I used Kotex with wings because I found that they absorbed the most without leaving me with that icky, wet feeling I get with Always. At night I used the super long pads in case I rolled around (which I didn't really do since I was in so much pain). Good luck to you!

Always overnight with wings. They are the best. I used the thicker ones, but as the bleeding slowed down I got the thin ones. Good luck with your new baby.

use one of the overnight type, with wings are better. just make sure its an unscented type, less chance for any adverse reactions when your body is already tender down there.

whatever you currently use you will just have to change them fairly often for awhile. I only bled heavy for the 1st day or 2.
