I'm feeling extremely faint, very weak and acheing all over, a couple of days after a flu and heavy period. I have no energy at all to do anything, and the glucose and iron tablets ive had dont seem to work!!!! Sleep seems to be the only thing i can do, and seem to be completely out of it! Should i have blood test?? What could be wrong?!

It not like usual when some women are faint after their periods?!

You still have the tail end of flu. Eat a lot and why are you using glucose and iron tablets? Get the glucose and iron from your diet.

Glucose you can get from anything.
Iron comes from red meats and dark vegetables such as broccoli.

it could be that your heavy period has caused further anemia, so go back to your gp and ask for blood tests. Also, having the flu at the same time will lower your immune system, so you will be feeling faint, lethargic and it sounds as if you still have a touch of the flu. Get your gp to test for post-viral syndrome, extreme tiredness etc after a viral infection does cause you to be exhausted. Some women can faint after very heavy periods. Just talk to gp and get tests done.

flu does not last a couple of days - it lasts a couple of weeks - along with your period you are very run down.
get some floradix liquid from a health shop and don't assume that you can take vits for a couple of days - it takes a couple of weeks for them to kick in - the floradix stuff works quicker - double the dose for about 4 days and then go back to the dose on the bottle,

This sounds like anaemia, you should get yourself tested at the GP's and eat plenty of iron-rich foods such as red meat. Heavy bleeding can cause this, so your period is probably to blame.

your run down. Rest, relaxation and good food. Then you'll be on the mend.
