Been a Twins fan all my life and I say definitely. He is one of those special players that comes up through the organization and is the heart of the team that you must find a way to sign. His defensive play and his dugout leadership are worth the 5 year deal he is wanting.

Torii Hunter 287-28-107 this year and a very good defensive outfielder is 32 years old and in his prime. A five year contract would end at age 37 for him so I would say he is definitely worth a five year deal for a contending team.

I'd like to announce Tori Hunter to the starting lineup of the NY Yankees....

nah, just kidding. I think that any player is worth whatever they can get. They need to get paid as much as possible during the time they are playing.

In regard to the contract value relative to his skills, I would say yes. He is above average in speed, offense, and defense. He can drive in runs w/ his bat, score runs on the bases and take them away in the field.

I totally agree. He needs to stay with the Twins. He is so worth spending the money to keep him around... I am a HUGE Twins fan, and our team would have major problems without him. We need Torii!! He's been with the Twins forever, and we need to keep it that way!
GO TWINS!!

Yes, and he'd look real nice out there next to Beltran. Sorry, but it seems to be a given that he won't be staying in Minny.
