Surely if he's dead then you're widowed, so you're free to marry.

duh yes. just take a copy of his death certificate along with you when you go to arrange the wedding. Any how , how did he get married again if there had not been a decree absolute - thet would make his second marriage invalid and legally you would be classed as a widow as the divorce had not been finalised. - or are you just saying that you have lost your copy of the absolute? If it had not been finalised it might be worth looking into whether you were entitled to a widow's pension or something similar - assuming you were not cohabiting with anyone else.

If he is your ex there should be a record somewhere of the divorce. If not, it would be easy to get a decree since he isn't going to be around to contest it. Better safe then sorry I always say. Make sure the paperwork is done.

yes if your husband has died then you can get married without that,its only when you have a devorce,and you cant find it,then it takes quiet a long time to sort out,good look

I do not see why not, I mean if you have a death certificate saying he is dead, then you are a widow & can re-marry.

your a widow so you wont need a absolute just a death certificate and if your new partner has never been married you can even do it in a church

i would imagine that since he's dead and was re-married there wouldnt be a problem for you getting re-married..
i'm not a lawyer though, so dont hang on my words.
