Sharky, a leader of the underworld, was killed by one of his own band of four henchmen. Detective sharp interviewed the men and determined that all were lyine except for one. He ddeduced who killed sharky in the basis of the following statements:

a. socko: lefty killed sharky
b. fats: muscles didn't kill sharky
c. lefty: muscles was shooting craps with socko when sharky was killed
d.muscles:lefty didn't kill sharky

You are having to make some major assumptions here. One is assuming that any of these guys are telling the truth.

I am going to go with the Murder on the Orient Express solution: They all did it.

Muscles killed Sharky. The setup says that all were lying except one, so that means that only one statement can be true.

(a) Socko says that Lefty Killed Sharky.
(d) Muscles says that Lefty did not kill Sharky.

Since they contradict each other, that means that one of those statements is true.

(b) Fats says that Muscles didn't kill Sharky.

If either (a) or (d) is true, then (b) has to be false – there can be only one true statement. If (b) is a lie, then Muscles killed sharky.
