If I purchase a discount toner cartridge for my
printer that is a store brand or discount refill, will it last as long
as my name brand toner cartridge or will I get ripped off?

My experience with cartridges bought from discounters has been good. I've found no difference in quaility or quantity.

Keep in mind that using refilled cartridges may affect your warranty. If the warranty is up then using off brand will save you some money - provided they are done properly. The first time you get one that leaks all the money you saved just went down the tubes.

It all depends on the quality of the company doing the remanufacturing. Using remanufactured cartridges will not affect the warrenty of the printer, no matter what they say, that would be in contravention of many consumer protection laws.
