Can't "touchdown Jesus" help them? Why would God let Notre Dame do so poorly, especially against the godless teams they've faced?

God switched over to Boston College. He can only root for one religious school per year.

God doesn't usually help win games or help celebrities win video music awards. Most students including atheletes at Notre Dame have great values and strong belief in God. Perhaps God is working with Notre Dame to teach the players determination, humility or many other important traits that come from not being the most successful team.

Didn't Notre Dame fired Ty and brought in Weiss because they thought he was God?

God has nothing to do with it. Football has no eternal value, and God is not going to supernaturally intercede on behalf of any football team. What God does care about is people having a relationship with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

No that is not proof. Sometimes the Father chastises the child with words. But its up to the child to behave or not
to behave.
In other words, if ND doesn't do it right, its not cause God didn't want them to do right.

God really does not care about football but does care about the players hearts and their comittment to Him.

God is only on their side when it's convienient. This is why people hate Notre Dumb and love it when they get their asses kicked.

No, just that they don't have a very good team this year.
