And of course Brady's first start and win as a starter came head to head against Peyton. And then he beat him again in Indianapolis 3 weeks later.
oh yea and in life:
Brady: dates supermodels
Manning: probably sits at home and plays madden as himself with his brother
Brady: 6th round draft pick and a true underdog story
Manning: spoiled little ***** who's daddy played in the NFL and complained when eli got drafted by san diego
Brady: concentrates on football
Manning: concentrates on being in shitty commercials
Brady: blames himself in the rare occasions when he loses
Manning: blames his teammates, especially his offensive line
Brady: all-around nice guy
Manning: probably eats kids
The Colts win INSPITE of Manning....the Patriots win BECAUSE of Brady

Common MISCONCEPTIONS manning fans who don't watch football complain about...

Manning has never had a good defense to work with!

In 2002 the Indy defense was ranked 7th in the league going into the playoffs. In the playoffs Manning was shut out completely, losing 41-0 to a mediocre 9-7 Jets team who's defense was ranked 24th in the league! Since then their defense has been ranked 11th in 2003 and 11th in 2005.

Tom Brady has had greater players around him to make him look good!

The Patriots were ranked 24th in total defense in 2001 and still won the super bowl. Brady has been the only offensive player named to the pro bowl on the patriots since 2001. Manning, on the other hand, has had 2 first round receivers (Wayne and Harrison) a first round running back and future hall of fame running back (James and Faulk) and first round TE (Dallas Clark) and first round o-lineman (Tarik Glenn)

Manning's stats are UNBELIEVABLE while Brady's stats are mediocre!

Actually at this point in his career Brady has a higher QB rating than Manning did at the same point. Manning is ranked 4th in QB rating while Brady is ranked 7th all-time (not much difference) While brady has passed to mediocre receivers his whole career (and sometimes a linebacker) he has a higher TD per passing attempt rating than manning and a lower interception per pass attempt rating.

Brady has had better coaching and Belichick is the real MVP of that team!

Belichick's career record before Brady 42-58
Belichick's record after Brady's arrival 82-26

I am sick of hearing about how Peyton Manning threw 49 TDs in 2004 and broke Marino's record so I decided to educate those Colts fans that believe just because he did this he is a better QB. Here are some facts that you probably don't know about those 49 TDs:

2007-10-03 05:05:26 · update #3

In 2004 Manning threw 4+ TDs in a game 6 times, this would be very impressive, however those 6 games were against the 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 25th, 28th, and 31st ranked defenses in the league!

He threw 3 TDs in a game 3 times, also would be fairly impressive however it was against the 11th (not bad) 27th, and 30th ranked defenses in the league.

In the 16 games that season he played teams that were out of the bottom 10 in defense only 5 times! In those five games he threw 3+ TDs in a game only once. He also only played two games against teams in the top 10 and 0 in the top 5. He only managed 2 TDs against the 9th ranked Patriots and 1 against the 6th ranked Ravens.

Manning dominated lesser teams (including a 6 TD performance against a 6-10 Detroit team that lost 41-9, the Colts hardly needed Manning's heroics). He also had a probowl receiver in Harrison and Wayne actually led the team in receiving that year. Give Brady that receiving corps, shitty defenses to face, a dome, and a need to prove himself in the regular season because he can't win in the playoffs and he could have just as many records as Manning.

michr, you are barely on Yahoo! Answers. The reason I put so much effort is to show that everybody is wrong when they say Peyton Manning is better than Tom Brady. Ifyou disagree, I would love to see your rebuttal.

New England was already a playoff team when Brady took over.
Indy sucked when Peyton got there (that's how they were able to get him with the 1st pick)
Two years after he got there he passed for over 4,000 yards and 26 touchdown passes and the team earned a first round bye as the AFC's second seed with a 13-3 record. They lost to the Titans in the playoffs. Also, Brady's first season as a starter was his "second" in the league. That helps his learning curve little bit.

Let's get this straight before I go on.
Tom Brady is a sick quarterback. I think he already belongs in talks of the greatest of all time. I mean the kid won 21 straight games (something you forgot to mention).

But Manning belongs among the top QBs also.

Tom Brady isn't 6-3 against Manning.
To the best of my knowledge they have never been on the field at the same time. This isn't basketball this is football. The ultimate team sport.
Tom Brady is 6-3 against the Colts.

Here are some stats (records) for Manning that you left out.

Seasons with 4,000+ yards: 7, 1999–2004, 2006
Consecutive seasons with 4,000+ yards: 6, from 1999–2004
Consecutive seasons with 25+ TD passes: 9, from 1998-2006 (current)
Games with perfect passer rating: 4 (includes 1 playoff game; most perfect games of any QB since passer rating was created by the NFL in 1973)
Manning has started his every NFL game, (currently 144 games), the longest career-opening streak for a QB.
Set NFL record for most completions in a single post-season (97) during the 2006/2007 post-season.

I fully appreciate how good Brady is.
But please show Peyton Manning some respect. After both their careers are over we can judge them. Until then it doesn't make sense to compare them.

i agree brady is better... Manning is the benificiary of a team that built an offense that anyone could thrive in... You give Brady Harrison on one side Wayne on the other Addai in the back field Dallas Clark at TE oh and that offensive line the offense wouldnt give defenses fits they would mow down defenses for 40+ per game

Peyton Manning recently donated $50,000,000 to a local children's hopsital in Indianapolis. Re-read that number, that was 50 MILLION! And where did that money come from that could donate? Income from doing all those commercials that people complain about so much. So the next time you want to hate on Peyton Manning and compare stats to show how Brady is better, remember these...

Number of Hopitals named after the player:

Peyton Manning - 1 (Peyton Manning Children's Hospital of St Vincent.)

Tom Brady - 0

Amount of $ donated to hospitals

Peyton Manning - $50,000,000

Tom Brady - a lot less.

Tom Brady is a good guy and a good QB. But to hate on the quality of the person in Peyton Manning is really ignorant.

Im not a Packers fan, but I think Favre is better than both. That is hard to say for me because I am a huge Chicago fan... no matter how bad we may be right now. Why is it that everyone continues to compare them anyway. Manning may only have one SB under his belt but he is a damn good QB and will forever reign supreme over Brady.

Besides, Brady must be better than Manning.. that's why you see him in more tv commercials.. **note sarcasm** This debate is old. NE fans are too arrogant to believe anyone is better than their precious.

gosh, you sure do have a lot of extra time on your hands. i didn't even read all that b/c it was just a TAD long. Anyway, does it really matter? Who won the Superbowl? Not Tom Brady, and I'm sure you were pretty upset when the Colts beat them to go to the Championship. It sounds to me like you are a little bitter.

You're not done writing I guess, but I think Manning is a great quarterback. He's no Tom Brady, and we'll all see that when they play. I think Peyton has a better arm, but Tom reads defenses better, and is cool under pressure.

2007-10-03 12:12:22 · answer #7 · answered by kimmyisahotbabe 5 · 5 0

That's a lot of writing for nothing. I could've said this in one line.

Tom Brady is better than Peyton Manning in the only stat that matters: SB Rings 3 to 1.

2007-10-03 12:16:28 · answer #8 · answered by Comfy! 3 · 3 3

You cannot compare them because one of them have played in the NFL longer. Brady one more super bowls than manning just because his defense and offense were better not because he was good. A quarterback can not win stuff by himself.

2007-10-03 12:24:25 · answer #9 · answered by Dude 3 · 1 2

Brady isnt better than Manning he just plays on a better team witch may make it seam that way tp people who dont know much about football. If you ask a player who the best QB is you would get a more educated answere.

But any player would tell you Favre is the mother of QB,s.
