I wish I could meet more women like you! I have such a hard time with women and I've nearly given up. I am also friendly but I've been rejected, for lack of a better word, so many times and I am too old to deal with it anymore.
I've noticed this with Mexican women in particular. I am not black or Hispanic, but I am interracially married to a black man and that seems to bother some of them, for whatever reason. These women are either friendly and treat me like a normal person would, or they are rude and ignore me--it is one extreme or the other. This has happened so many times I've lost count. And learning Spanish won't help you. I know Spanish and it's made very little difference. Just recently, I took a class through my little boy's school on raising 5 year olds and I was the only non-Hispanic there. As I expected, some of the women were gracious and others were rude. I even offered a suggestion (in an open forum type discussion) for a problem one lady was having and she never even said thank you...I've seen her a couple times around the school since and she does not acknowledge me.
BUT I've noticed this with black and white women too, so I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, even though it becomes difficult after awhile. It's becoming hard for me to be friendly because there seems to be so many UNFRIENDLY women out there. I tend to keep to myself now, which is not in my nature. It never used to be this bad. All you can do is continue to be gracious and not take it personally--after all, it isn't your problem! Hang in there.

Well, it is not fair to say that all Hispanic women dislike/hate African American women which is not the case. Remember racist can be found in every race and culture. Their are some Hispanic men and women like that just like others who dislike black women for whatever reason. Their are plenty of Hispanic women I get along great and consider nice people while some I just don't click with, maybe it has the fact to do with different cultures and not particularly race. It is just based on the individual, not Hispanic women in general.

Eh whatever. If women want to take on traditionally male roles such as being terrified as to whether you make enough money to feed and clothe your family, stressing out about getting your bills paid, being overworked and underpaid by bosses of questionable virtue, etc. then that's fine by me. I think it kind of shows how education in America needs to be changed. Boys have been left by the wayside because there's an assumption that males are less sensitive, thoughtful, etc., and instead they're overmedicated, diagnosed with made-up illnesses, ignored, etc. No wonder there are more women in college than men.

I do not think that it is logical or fair to make generalized statements about an entire culture based on selected experiences that you have had. You may have had bad experiences, but in the words of Donnie Osmond "one bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch girl!" I'm sure that with time, you will meet wonderful, sincere, and respectful Hispanic women.

Never really experienced that. I've really only been to Hispanic clubs so I don't have much to go by. But, from that experience, I didn't have any problems at all. Maybe you are just running into some stupid Hispanic chicks. I know they are not all like that.

I had friends from the Carribbean who were Hispanic, but looked African-American (they were from Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Cuba). When they interacted with people of Mexican descent or Caucasian Hispanics (from Spain and Mexico), they were treated very poorly by women, but treated OK by men. I don't get it either......

Caribbean hispanics, like me (i'm puertorican) are generally considered to be very tolerant of black people, but I have found that many, but not all, South American hispanic countries are extremely racist in general, especially against blacks. They even tend to be racist against caribbean hispanics, since we're considered heavily mixed race (including native indian, white hispanic, black and asian heritage) especially if a hispanic like me is somewhat dark skinned. Some south americans who are otherwise nice people, will casually make fun of someone like me for having light tan skin, in the same way that people in this country will casually poke fun of someone for being fat without even realizing that they are being prejudiced.

here we go with the generalizations again. Don't let a couple of bad experiences tarnish your outlook on the whole Raza.

you cannot put all Hispanic women in the same category, just like you can't put all black women in the same category.
