My college is offering a program where you can go to mexico for four weeks during the summer. I would be taking spanish classes monday through friday, with a fun trip on the weekend. I will have to live with a family there as well. I know that doing things like this would look good on my resume, but I don't know if I could go 4 weeks in a different country.

This is a wonderful opportunity for you to not only learn about someone else's culture and how they live but even learn more about yourself. You will be able to see your strengths and weaknesses in a situation that is not normal for you.

You may even meet a lifelong friend in this experience. Get out and spread your wings.

Plus that WILL help in your professional life. As many Spanish speaking people that are now moving into our communities I always see jobs posted where they are needing someone in a position that is bi-lingual and for you to say you've lived their life even if it is just for 4 weeks would be very impressive to an employer.

Don't be scared, answer the door while opportunity is knocking and send postcards!
