I don't think you can count that since they might die of things like abuse and neglect after being starved but actually die of dehydration or something related to the abuse.
Also some elderly have food in front of them and just don't care to eat so become really thin but might die from something else.
My grandmother was down to 82 pounds with plenty of food in the house but when she went to assisted living and they made more tempting food she gained weight.
The weight loss may have made it harder for her to get well but she was 98 and I don't think they found a cause of death.
