Abortion is wrong.
It's not about choice.
It doesn't matter if the woman was raped. The baby is still innocent and no one has the right to take its life - even the mother. It's NOT her body, it's the baby's body.

I'm prochoice (thanks for the thumbs down) and here is why:
1. if abortion were made illegal, imagine how high the women and baby death rates would go up because women would be going to untrained people or performing self abortions, or neglect the baby once it's born or throw the baby away. Which would you prefer? A fetus medically removed, or a baby neglected or crushed in a trashcan?
2. Lets say a mother of two young children and a loving husband, yet she gets pregnant again and is told if she carries the child to full term her chances of living are slim. Would you want to leave your family behind? Sure we all like to think we'd do the "right thing" and sacrafice ourselves so one can live, but in reality very few people would actually do that.
3. Your 11 year old daughter gets raped and gets pregnant from it. Are you going to let her walk around, listen to people bash on her, go to school, deal with the concequences she had nothing to do with? You think people are understanding but they are not. When most people see a pregnant young girl they automatically will treat them poorly because they assume the worst. People never sit and think "maybe she was raped" they will just assume she's a whore. Would you want your daughter going through society the rest of her life with that huge weight on her shoulders?
3. THe baby has almost zero chance of living once it's born. Would you still have it? (YEs prolife does mean even carrying and having the stillbirth no matter what).
4. Have you not seen our orphanages out there? The foster cares there are? Not very pretty. Everyone has this happy thought that every single child put up for adoption gets adopted into this happy go lucky commerical like family, but the majority of babies/children do not get adopted. SO how many have you adopted? How much have you donated to clean up fostercares/orphanges, how many foster children have you taken in?
Nowif your asking if I think it should be used as birthcontrol? No I dont. I think it should be there for the reasons listed above. If you're asking if I would ever get an abortion, the answer is no. There is list of arguments for your speech.
And all you people saying "abortion is wrong and is murder except for incest and rape" well sorry to tell ya this but thats called prochoice. Saying that means you are for abortion.

A woman can make a choice about whether she opens her legs to a man or not, and a man can make a choice in the part he plays and whether he uses contraception or not. And when a woman has no choice or reduced control over her body e.g. as in rape or coersion, then it is still not the babies fault they were conceived. I don't agree with a woman having an abortion in any circumstance, because it is no longer all about her anymore. It's about us all learning to take individual responsibility for our actions and 'mistakes'. Actions have consequences but they don't have to produce death. I'll agree that we are not to judge women who've had them before; Lord please forgive any of us if we have ever been judgemental here. I also agree that we cannot stay silent on the killing of millions of innocent souls every year. Warning graphic - http://www.godofmercy.com/Special_Studies/Abortion/Abortion_Gallery.htm

No, to each her own (with in reason). Abortion should never be used as birth control, however no one should have more control over your body than you do.
I have never been a fan of abortions but I have always been pro-choice.
I don't think any women is enjoys having abortions, I have never heard anyone saying how much fun it was.
I believe most women including myself, dread the day they ever have to make this decision.
Unfortunately, this day has come for me to make this same decision. And it has not been easy, every aspect of my person is involved in my decision
Is it wrong to keep a baby just to save face?
Is it selfish to keep a baby I cant provide for?
Is it cruel to have a child that you really don't want?
Who am I to take any ones life away?
These are all things that I had to deal with, in the end I am keeping my baby, with the hopes that all will be well.
But its not for me or anyone else to decided what right for you or your body.

I think it is ok to do...
Let me ask you a hypothetical question:
Lets say you, or your daughter (assuming you do of course) or your sister, or just a female you're close to, gets raped, and pregnant, sad, yes, and she doesn't want it, would you still say "no abortion."
Also...lets say that said female has some sort of medical condition and that both the female and the baby will die if they don't kill the baby first. Would you still say "no abortions" and let both die?
Also, (in my experience) women will do pretty much whatever they want, whenever they want. If she wants ice cream, she's gonna get ice cream somehow...and if she wants an abortion, she'll get an abortion any way she can. Would you rather have the said female, who wants an abortion, do it in the safest place possible (abortion clinic) or would you want her to go to a back ally doctor, or do it herself by falling down the stairs of using a metal coat hanger?
If you still say abortion is wrong, I can sympathize, BUT ask yourself, do you want your fellow women, who might want an abortion someday, do it as safely as possible, or as unsafe as possible? Hope this helps

Abortions are one of humankind's greatest discoveries.
They should be mandatory and combined with sterilisation for any couple who go and start breeding without first passing a strict written exam to prove them capable of being good parents first.
The current social troubles in Britain are primarily down to a lot of people getting pregnant in the 80s who were NOT equipped nor prepared to be parents... and as a result we now have violent mobs of unruly and downright stupid individuals rampaging the streets while their "parents" sit at home getting drunk and smoking themselves to death.
And furthermore...
It is bad enough that we are all forced into the living condition when we have no will nor power to prevent it..... but to force yet more into this state, simply through spite, is downright sick. Rather than be aborted, those "children" in question have nothing more to look forward to than a world that doesn't want them, at best will ignore them... and at worst will force suffering upon them just because they're there.
Life = Suffering.
Pro-Life = Sadist.
Don't think I haven't noticed that you're just giving thumbs down to everyone you don't agree with here. You're not looking for answers; just affirmation of your own beliefs....

I don't think it's wrong. I know it is. We put murderers in jail everyday for what others are getting by with. Do some research. A baby is just that from the time of conception...a BABY. They start to develop quickly.

I was diagnosed with cervical cancer and a couple weeks later found out I was pregnant. I was given a choice by my doctor but there was no choice but the right one. I had lived a happy life to this point and I was not going to deprive my child of the same opportunity. I had a difficult pregnancy, but I now have a beautiful little girl. They got the cancer the morning after I delivered. So, I know how this feels.
A child that is a product of rape would be very hard to raise, but there are people out there that can't have children that would adopt this child and give it a good home.

I think abortions are wrong
I think the government has not right on telling anyone what health procedures a person should have
I think before an abortion, women should be told, that some women never get over it. Be fore they have one, they need to know what the believe in this question. "Where do you believe where life's begins? Birth? Conception/"
If conception, they may never get over having one
I believe in information, I be live that information will stop some people from making an mistake, for them

I believe that its completely up to the woman. What if a fifteen year old girl was raped? First off, she'd be way too traumatized about the rape to even deal with the fact that she was pregnant. Though she would be phsyically mature to handle giving birth, emotionally and mentally, she just wouldn't be able to handle it.
Another example, what if a someone who wasnt healthy enough to give birth got pregnant? Say her life was in danger. She would have to choose with the new life inside her, or her own.
Have you ever been in a situation like this? Think about what you'd do. I know you cant even imagine how it would feel, but try.

I think if the woman was raped, she DEFINITELY has the right to abort that child.
However, if it's a 14-year-old girl who was stupid enough to not use a condom or some other reason, she should have the baby.
All in all though I'd say it should be the woman's choice. You are in control over your own body and should be able to make decisions independently regarding it.
I am not condoning it. I don't think it's good for anyone to abort a child. Just saying it should be the woman's decision.

I am pro-choice. Abortion is a woman's choice. We all have a right to think what we want, and believe what we want. I have had an abortion. You don't see me yelling at women for giving their kids up for adoption, or all those unfit parents who do drugs right in front of their children. I don't push my views on anyone so what I don't understand is why do pro-lifers think they have the right to do that to me?? If you don't agree with abortion then fine, don't have one. FREEDOM OF CHOICE!
