I feel he is an idiot for doing so. What a president we have, doesn't want a better health care system for low income children!

Well, I don't have much respect for this guy, as it is.

When he finds something unacceptable, he 'decrees' it as such. But when others find something unacceptable, they are blocking and refusing to do what is right. For example, when the Congress did not pass legislation to give money to the troops without a timetable, which he turned down, he claimed that Congress wasn't doing right and was refusing money to the troops. But HE is the one who turned down the money. I think that quite often Bush blames OTHERS for doing things that are HIS responsibility.

That being said, he will say that he is vetoing it for reasons other than giving health care to children. I'm sure he believes that ALL children should have health care. He has other issues as to HOW the health care should be given, and since he is ALWAYS right and can NEVER make a mistake, only his views are acceptable. I believe this country will be MUCH better off, starting Jan 20, 2009!

Once again our president is not concerned with the American public who is most heavily taxed compared to net income ratio. Bush's reasoning? He wanted to protect big name health care org's. This has little or nothing to do w/ this. This bill is to provide medical care for children, not adults. People who don't qualify for medicare but do not make enough or receive health ins. would benefit from this. When will our taxes be used to assist under privileged Americans and not pay for tropical vacations.

You are not a child at 23. Everyone has access to health CARE but not necessarily health INSURANCE which I think you're thinking of.

Why do people think the government can run that sort of program anyway? Because they do so well with the DMV or the post office? possibly the two most inefficient organizations in history? Or because it works so well in other countries like Canada where the well off are sneaking into the US for treatment.

Thank goodness. I basically prefer he'd veto (or congress might supply up passing) each bill which takes money by using stress from people who earned it easily (taxes) and gives you it to others. Having a reliable reason like helping the needy does not justify utilising the government to scouse borrow money from individuals to help your reason. you would be arrested in case you robbed your neighbor at gunpoint to grant the money to a wellbeing medical institution for toddlers. Why is it mysteriously a reliable ingredient once you utilize your vote to have the government's weapons rob your neighbor? If helping others is a reliable ingredient (that's) then you certainly would desire to have the flexibility to get human beings to do it voluntarily particularly of utilising the government to stress them to. government has killed charity. greater and greater human beings see others suffering and picture "that's the government's activity" and walk on by using.

I don't. People just want to get health care for free. Now I know there are some truely poor people out there who need it, but think of the MILLIONS of Americans who are living off of welfare? It's just going to be those people who take it. Because they think they can be lazy and not work. They got money, they were going to get insurence, what's next, their bills?
