Because Norton sucks. Seriously, take it off your computer and get Trend Micro AntiVirus from Best Buy. It works wonders. I used to have Norton and it didn't protect me at all.

It is expired. You may need to use Norton removal tool to completely uninstall it before reinstalling. Norton works great and the 2008 version is even less of a resource hog.

Maybe your subscription ran out. If your subscription is still good, try reinstalling Norton. Or, ideally, get a different antivirus...Norton is so bloated and takes up many more resources than is necessary.

Installation problem it should do updates or else.. reinstall that software else if that doesnt work then call up the customer care. of that antivirio
