PHOENIX - A private investigator observing an autopsy of a woman who died after being detained at the Phoenix airport said bruises were scattered across her body, indicating there was a struggle, an attorney for the woman's family said."

I think she went nuts, and struggle with the police. The media said she was going to alcohol rehab. If that was the case, why was she flying alone? How in the world police should POLITLY ask people to come with them, especially if they are agressive/violent? Do you think she would come politely with them?
Of course her family will say, NOW, that she was sweet, what else they will tell, that she was crazy? Yeah right.

I don't think the Police handled it properly, they don't seem to know how to deal with people like her in a proffessional manner. They could be at fault in my opinion!!! They should have dealt with her differently, she really wasn't a criminal, and she might be alive today, she was going for help, so that's a sign that she wanted to get better, but they ruined it for her. If I were her parents I would probably look into suing the Police Department.

My guess would be she was so up tight about all that was going on that she had a stroke or heart attack. Now that will come out in the paper after all the slamming to the police make front page. This on the other hand will be on page nine of the NY-times or something and then in small print. Good things are not worth reading or hearing about only the bad stuff

If she was an alcoholic, the chances are good the bruises were a result of her falling about when drunk. They may not have come from that day at all. Also, since drunks can be very aggressive, I could see the police having to really fight with her to get her to calm down. They don't allow people to go nuts in airports like that.

Sounds like she was so agitated, she tried her hardest to get out of the handcuffs and strangled herself.
