I’m asking because I heard on the radio this morning about the 9 students from Hanover High School were caught stealing exams and tests from their teacher. Here’s the link to this story: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=14811147&ft=1&f=1003. Anyway, the DJ of the morning radio show stated that he thought the criminal charges these teens are facing is a bit harsh and should not have police involvement. He also stated that one of his friends said that cheating is apart of life to get ahead. He stated that in the corporate world everyone cheats and that if he did not cheat he wouldn’t have received his MBA from prestigious college. What do you think?

Wow, interesting question. I think it has to do more with the level of cheating done. I'm in college now and my calc prof says he knows we all cheat with our calculators and he did too when he was a student. I think that type of cheating is fine but cheating that involves stealing is a whole other issue. It's one think to take a risk and cheat yourself but stealing from a prof or teacher and enabling others is more severe, just my opinion though (:

Yes all time. I couldn't help but look at the answers of somebodys elses test if I didn't know the answers or I would ask my friends what the answers who had previously done the test earlier in the day. These were before the days of cell phones and camera phones. One time these girls took an answer key off the teachers desk and answered the trignometry questions before he came into the room to start class. If you were caught cheating in my school it was an automatic F for the entire year and you would be kicked out of class. If you had so many fs or you report card they would not let you into the next grade.

yes i cheated all the time why do u think i finally graduated. plus even if i looked at their answers i would 2nd guess myself and usually put something else down and sometimes get the right answer. i think its stupid for cops to get involved in something this ridiculous. but the DJ and his friend are right. Although if i understand correctly if u cheat on SATs and things like that the cops can be called. Who knows?!

No, I never have - honest.

I don't agree with the statement that if a person did not cheat, he/she wouldn't have received his/her MBA from a prestigious college.

I'm proud to say that I've got my degree and my Masters from one of the top 10 universities and I didn't cheat. I've studied very well to attain those achievements.

Never cheated. Never had the need to.

People might think it is ok to cheat but if you know someone who cheated - would you ever trust them again? And for those who cheated and got caught, do you think other people will ever trust you again or give you any higher responsibility?
Not worth it.

Never did

That explains why I screw up my grades sometimes lol. But it's very tough here, if caught cheating, a student is failed all of his subject for that semester and suspended for the rest of the sem.

While in schools we'd peek into each other's books or copy from the text during tests. Stealing and stuff is juvenile.
