So, does that make me blind and ignorant because I believe the Chicago Black Hawks have a shot at winning Stanley this year?

It's actually the ownership & management that are blind & ignorant!! The Maple Leaf fans have no say to whom team puts on the ice!! It's been like this for years & is why the Leafs haven't won the Cup since 1967!! Until the Maple Leafs organization gets ownership that wants to put a quality team on the ice, Leafs fans are doomed to a losing team!!

I'd applaud the dedicated Leaf Fans who support their team despite not having won since '67 (which for a lot of the Fans was before they were born); better than being one of those cities who are full of bandwagon fans only showing up if the team is winning like Chicago or Washington (and basically every new expansion team)... but I suspect few of them actually ever believe that they might win the Stanley Cup...
... Unfortunately I cannot applaud those Leaf Fans since they are probably the same ones who were booing the Leafs during preseason games...
... The only Fans worse than that were the New York Islanders ones who were booing the Canadian national anthem... That was just pathetic...

I think you're the only one who is blind and ignorant. Ask any Leaf fan here if we're going to win the Cup and they'll tell you that we have the same chance as Columbus this year. We know our team will always be crap as long as the Ontario Teachers' Pension has a majority ownership on the team (yep, a bunch of useless Ontario high school teachers own the team) and the politics that it plays within.
Now, you may be wondering, "Then why not root for a winner?" Why do the Montrealers root for the Habs? Edmontonians root for the Oilers? Because it's their team, and the Leafs are ours. Plus, to jump from winning team to winning team is a little thing called "bandwagoning" and it doesn't show character because it shows that you only go with the social trends like a sheep or a follower. Something which I suspect that you do.
Oh, go Leafs by the way.

I think Leafs fans are very dedicated and I will leave it at that. If you like the sport cheer for whatever team you want!
Its MLB but ook at all those Red Sox Fans that didnt see a world series win for how many years?
Unfortunately professional sports teams success are not just defined by the players abilities, the Franchise's spending power & experience with the sport has alot to do with it. Look at the difference between the pay roll of some of the teams and I'm sure you will agree.

Every team in every sport has fans like that. I can puke every time I see the bandwagon Phillies fans proclaiming a World Series title this year. The nauseousness comes not from being sick of hearing it all, but from laughing so hard.
I have the Maple Leafs as my third favorite team behind the Flyers and the Devils, and I can understand how they feel sometimes. But, on Monday morning, I was on I-95 headed into Philly when some (bleep!) would not let me get in the lane that I was signalling for. I ain't someone to just dart over, I give plenty of time for them to see my trucks' turn signals.
It turns out, she had her cellphone stuck to her ear, was oblivious to the more important matters going on around her, and had no idea I was trying to move over. I slowed enough to let her pass then I casually move in the lane behind her.
Wouldn't you know it? Her license plate read LEAFSFN. I won't repeat what I said to myself but I regretted every nice thing I ever said about the Leafs. But I cooled off and nobody got hurt.
Ironic, ain't it?

Come on now....if you're a fan, you're a fan. Every fan wants their team to win the Stanley Cup....and it just so happens that we haven't won it since 1967. Call it optimistic, not blind and ignorance. We love our team and don't give a damn what anyone else thinks. If everyone else thinks they suck, more power to ya ~ you'll never hear a Leafs fan EVER say that our team sucks.
We are persistent, optimistic and passionate about our team. You just need to suck it up and get on with being a fan of your own team and not focus on us great fans of the Leafs.
2eighty8: You suck. Every team and every player has bad games. Go cheer for the ding-a-lings.

Everyone is optimistic about their team's chances to win the Stanley Cup. Why do you complain about Leafs fans? We are all wanting a chance to root for a winner. I think my Canucks have a shot. I think you're doing nothing more than Leaf-baiting here.
