Sounds like you better hit Google... fish breed in a lot of different ways

Egg layers
Live bearers

Some nurture and protect (ciclids) , some lay and go (salmon)

and some strange ones

Mouthbreeders (honest!)
Male mothering (sea horses)

You should find a lot of photos on line that way...
