can be rewritten as

divide both sides by 1.08

Divide the .08 by both sides.
The .08 divided by .08 will cancel.
add the x's.
so you get 2x=450.00 divided by .08
After you get the answer from 450.00/.08,
divide both sides by the 2.
the 2 cancels and x = what ever is left over.
Do the work and you should get 2812.5
