I'm watching it from recordings because it is so long.
It gives a good overview of the war - one I have never had in chronological order before. It includes the challenges, the strengths, the successes, and the failures.
It also provides specific personal points of view of several people both fighting and at home, in different parts of the country.
Peoples memories are well substantiated with photos, film, and documents.
Does that make it liberal?

Not at all. I can't figure out why some folks wouldn't watch it because it was made by a Democrat. Get over the partisan BS, people.
Skooz: Things weren't all good during WWII. Who doesn't know that? We learned and grew and we still do. Why would we say everything we did was right? Anecdotal interviews and accurate conveyance of history is not liberal bias.

I watched it and was annoyed by the constant preaching about how bad America was and how terribly things went.
It was a one-sided litany of ineptitude.
For those who missed it, every episode went like this:
Poor planning and inept leadership led to disaster in this battle.
Meanwhile, on the home front, racism.
Poor planning and inept leadership led to disaster in another battle. But, somehow we won. Or rather, the other guys lost.
Meanwhile, on the home front, racism.
Poor planning and inept leadership led to disaster in another battle. But, somehow we won. Or rather, the other guys lost again.
Meanwhile, on the home front, racism.
Ma, oh man. What a terrible battle. American blood everywhere. But, the other guys lost again, so we took more territory.
Meanwhile, on the home front, racism.
Burns is a brilliant film maker and I was expecting much better. The soundtrack is horrendous (what's the deal with the musical saw? Geesh, that got old 40 years ago).
I don't know if it reflected any "liberal bias," but it sure put the USA in a poor light.
The whole series was a disappointment.

Our leader at the time was Roosevelt, a known Liberal. In failing to denounce him as a Commie, the documentary was Liberally biased!
