I have a friend who FINALLY agreed to check into a hospital - and under the condition that I would watch his house and his dogs for him. I've never really had to be a part of any one's life that's gone through re-hab. (And this is his SECOND attempt - the first time he was 2 1/2 years clean before falling off). Will you give me ideas of things I need to be aware of once he's gotten through treatment to help him. I know he's asked if I would come to some of his counceling....I just don't know what to expect.

Any thoughts would be appreciated (Along with prayers if you're Christian! :-) )

Yea christianity!.... I digress. That aside hunnie you need to requinize that alcholism is a disorder of the mind. He has no purpose really, so the alchohol makes up for that. Its not a simple, "ooo I need alchol" which is why if you are serious you go to counseling with him. If not, leave him be alcholics need more then love and support, trust me, both my parents are alchies. So unless you feel like getting deep enough to even look into yourself, this isn't a good charity run, this is serious. Take it that way, go to the counselling.....
