Hell No! Reyes is still young with tremendous upside. Santana is great but not for Reyes!

Dennys Reyes for Ervin Santana? But WHY? Or are we talking about Smashing Pumpkins bassist Ginger Reyes for guitar legend Carlos Santana? That last one... it makes no sense. Don't do it.

If you're talking about the Mets trading Jose Reyes for Santana, well, that would make sense for nobody (except maybe the Twins.) The Mets have one of the premier shortstops in MLB signed very affordably through 2010 with a club option for 2011.

Omar Minaya isn't foolish enough to trade away a franchise shortstop for a pitcher he'd have to pay $20M a year, especially if he'd have a chance to sign that pitcher a year from now without giving up that same franchise shortstop.

Hell of a deal for the Twins, equally horrible one for the Mets.
Santana only has one year left on his contract and Reyes is under control for what? 3? and at a lot lower amount.

I don't think Minaya does this, unless he can get Santana signed before a deal is made.

You can always get a shortstop, but a 20-game winner isn't always available.

If I were the Mets I'd take it.
Santana would post a sub 1 ERA in the NL and win 25 games a year.

reyes sucked the last 2 months, one reason the mets missed the playoffs, i'd do it if the twins are willing

Only in fantasy. You don't trade a franchise SS for a pitcher, not even a Santana.

Why would either team want to give up a star and their future? Trades are made when both teams benefit and there is certainly no benefit to either team when you trade a superstar for a superstar. It would be like the Braves trading Hank Aaron to the Yankees for Mickey Mantle, Why?
