They do not like Justice Thomas because he is a black man that opposes affirmative action and massive welfare systems. Jackson and Sharpton have based their careers on the need for these programs.

Justice Thomas got to the top on his own merits. That is something that the black leaders who made their living out of stupping too many blacks will not tolerate. In addition he is conservative therefore he is an “uncle Tom”. The fact that Justice Thomas is married to a white woman was much of an insult to them as well. Go figure! The same troublemakers that claim they want to stop racism criticized his mixed marriage.

that's a tragic element that loonies like Jackson and Sharpton have become the leaders of the blacks in this usa. truly of respected human beings like Cosby or perhaps Belafonte(who i in my opinion dislike because of the fact of his activism) the blacks have ended up with the embezzler,Jackson and the lunatic Sharpton, who creates thoughts to get media interest. Obama is this form of chief Blacks could flock to because of the fact he's sensible adequate to stroll softly and wield his massive stick selectively when you have the information.

Because he is a Black American who would not let others do his thinking for him. HERE....is a role model for black children to follow. Dr. King would have stood beside this man. JJ & Al wont stand for any Black that does for him/her self. They spew the hate talk of "acting white" or "unka Tom" crap! They let the past dictate their present! These "Reverands" will have alot of 'splaining to do when they meet their maker!

Clarence Thomas made it to the top on his own merits? HA! He benefitted from one appointive position after another! Including Affirmative Action!

These other Black leaders look down on him because he's Scalia's hand puppet. So do I.

Maybe it is because they suspect Ms. Hill was telling the truth all along, and choose not to defend a dishonest man. Most likely, however, it is because he is a conservative who opposes most of what they believe.

Should they support him simply because he is black? Would that not be racist?

This kind of reminds me of the Hilary Clinton voice controversy. She sang the national anthem off key, so her detractors criticised her voice as being disrespectful. Had she not sung, they would have accused her of hating America.

How about you? Have you stopped beating your wife lately?
