I have a 2004 Classic (Malibu), automatic. When I get passed the first gear to the second the car jecks. I was trying to figure out what the problem could be.

it jeck when I take do I need fuel injection cleaner?

I assume you mean the car clunks going into 2nd gear. Did you check transmittion fluid level? Also, does the fluid look clean or smell burnt? First thing would be to have the fluid changed and pan taken off to inspect the pan magnet for metal particles. The pan has a magnet in it to catch metal shavings which also indicates the wear on parts. To have fluid changed and pan inspected will cost around $100-$125. Well worth it if caught early enough as transmittion overhaul is like $2,500.

It might be a problem with the bands in the gear box not being adjusted correctly enough in second gear, does it happen in all gears or just second?

you may be going into second before you have the proper speed and rpm's to be in second gear
