Hehe, I had to giggle at this question because I would bet that 9 out of 10 women, at or before their 37 week mark, has pleaded for an induction with god/their OB/their husbands/anyone who will listen.
I am the mother of 1, and am 33 weeks pregnant with #2. I was MISERABLE with my first, starting at about 25 weeks (yeah... i'm a wimp), My daughter wasn't born til 41 weeks, and that last month almost did me in... From what I hear from other moms, that last moth is the one in which they want to do anything they can to make the baby come. They say there are things that you can do to help speed up the labor process. They say walking and sex are 2 sure fire ways... on a personal note, I think this is crap! I think that the dr that suggested that is a man, because my husband got more action that last month than he had in the last 2 or 3 years COMBINED! I was ready for that baby to come out, at ANY cost!
Long story short, I can pretty much assure you that your dr will NOT induce labor until 39 weeks (and even then, you may have to beg a little). But take heart... it will be over soon, and the memory of this rough time will be faint... the baby is worth every little ache and pain, I promise!
Good luck :-)

Chances are that your doctor will not induce labor this early unless there is a medical necessity to do so and unfortunately being uncomfortable isn't a risk to your health or your babies health. If you are still pregnant and uncomfortable at 40 weeks your doctor will probably consider inducing you. Being induced is not a good way to go anyway, the labor is much more painful and much longer, it is best if you go into labor on your own. Good luck to you, I hope for your sake you go into labor naturally very soon!
Also at the end of pregnancy sometimes your appetite drops off, it is hard to eat but you have to get something in your body to keep yourself and your baby healthy. Decrease in appetite can also be a sign labor is close!!

I'm not a doctor myself but in my experience I don't think the doctor will induce labor for this reason. It really depends on your individual doctor. Most of the time, reasons for inducing labor would be if the baby is past the due date, the baby is measuring too large (sometimes may result in a c-section) or if you want to be induced and your doctor is comfortable doing that. You are full term so the baby should be fine if they do. But being extremely uncomfortable, having problems breathing and eating is part of being that far along in a pregnancy.

It just depends on your doctor, there is no reason they cant but some doctors wont. I was lucky with my doc. My son was induced at 37 weeks and he was 100% healthy and weighed 7 lb 8 oz and went home the next day . I was induced due to alot of pain on and off.

I also doubt your doctor will induce you. You can ask though...it doesn't hurt to try.
Most doctors want you to go to 40 weeks even though 38 weeks is considered full term. They will probably just tell you thats the way pregnancy is at the end. You only have 3 weeks to go, hang in there, you're little one will be here before you know it.

they will not induce labor before you are a full 37 weeks so Tuesday i would call and ask for an appointment. or you could take thing in to your own hands and self induce. like taking Castor oil. it worked for me at 36 weeks but i knew already how big my baby was and that she would be fine if delivered sooner. she weighted 6 pounds 13 oz and was 4 weeks early. but back to the Castor oil if you mix 3 1/2-4 oz of Castor oil with 5-6 oz of orange juice ( i used pineapple juice because i couldn't stand the taste of OJ) and drink it all. you should be in labor soon. I drank it at midnight (12 am) before going to bed thinking it would be morning before it worked and to my surprise i was up at 1 am having contractions, got in the bath to ease the pain and by 2:45 i was on my way to the hospital in FULL ACTIVE LABOR. we had to stop and get gas (hubby forgot to do earlier that day) drop off our oldest child and drive 30 minutes to the hospital by the time we got there it was 5:05. i had time to get in the delivery room start an IV and the doctor came in to "catch" the baby she was born at 5:23 am

All the things you are feeling are normal discomforts of pregnancy. Maternal discomfort is *almost never* an appropriate reason to induce labor I'm sorry to say.
You can always ask your doctor - some are more sympathetic than others, and only they know how badly your discomfort is affecting you.
Hang in there!

If this is your first pregnancy, it is my guess you will end up having a cesarean.
I had the same problems, PLUS preeclampsia at 38 weeks, and they tried to induce for 3 DAYS straight, and I never dilated. (effaced 60%). They had to do a cesarean.
The 3 days of induction in hospital was a waste of time and money and a risk of my life and the baby's. I should have gone through with the cesarean to begin with.
My midwife said that it was very common for women in their first pregnancy to not dilate.
Hang in there.

The final weeks are just going to be uncomfortable. Comes with the territory.
Doctors do not typically induce labour because Mom is uncomfortable...we're all uncomfortable and ready for it to be over at that point.
Sorry! :)

i think all the signs you're having were just normal at this stage. When you lay down to sleep, try to be on your left side - It regulates the circulation of your blood so you wont have difficulty in breathing. When you eat, have an ample meal. DO NOT OVER EAT! ... and try to talk with your fetus not to give you a hard time... hehe... God Bless!
