I am a citizen of this country. I go to work and pay my taxes, so I am entitled to the same rights as everyone else.Nothing more, nothing less. You don't want me to have my rights, then don't take my tax dollars.

I'm for it. I think that gays must have the same rights than the others... But some people means that when somebody doesn't be married or has a relationship with a same sex person, this person is a sinner. And that she doesn't deserve respect...
And I'm okay with dylan. When the state ask about paying taxes, they must give the same rights to all the citizens of this state... If not, don't take the money...

Honestly, I think gays should be free, should live their love free, without being afraid about prejudices, and the glance of the others...

I think it shouldnt even be a question. Any innocent person, no matter who they identify with, deserves their rights. Black, gay, socialist....I figure as long as someone isn't a criminal they deserve the rights of the next person whomever they may be.
It's a vile blasphemy that someone would consider segregating a person from their naturally given rights just because they're different. Everyone is different and deserves the same rights.
For the record, I didn't mention religion because that should never determine a person's rights either.

I do not believe in Big Government that enforces personal choices upon us. Government should not limit our choice of partners.

This principle applies to all transactions such as tax law, inheritance and hospital visitation rights. Adoption rights is more sticky because government has to be involved and someone has to make the decision of what is best for a child; to date I am not aware of any evidence that a child grows up either more or less healthy with gay parents than with straight parents or in the foster system.

In the end, limitations on gay rights are there because somebody thinks it yucky. Currently, wife beaters can marry multiple times while decent gays and lesbians cannot even once. Clearly our social priorities are blurred.

I fully support all people's rights. That most certainly should include full equality and acceptance for those that are G,L,B or T. The reason I feel that way? I guess because I am a part of humanity, and do not feel any of us are secure in our rights as long as any of us are denied our rights.

Note for Holy Roller: If you would do the most cursory study of history you would learn that, regardless what those on the religious right say, homosexuality was indded not a factor in the fall of the Roman empire. Widespread borders and military action, and the inability to secure or man these activities led to the fall of that empire. Your argument is old, tired and historically inaccurate.

I'm for it. I don't think that it's up for us to decide who should receive what rights, especially when gay marriage doesn't harm anyone.

Edit: And I don't understand why people bring religion into it. There's supposed to be a separation of church and state, so regardless of your religious beliefs, I don't think that gives anyone the right to call a person evil or an "abomination" just because they were born a certain way. Gay people might not even be part of a religion that finds homosexuality sinful, so why should they be forced to live according to rules they don't even follow? It's just hypocritical, especially since Jesus preached love and tolerance, not hate and bigotry.

No matter if your gay, or whatever all will never be satisfied with what they have, because they will only want what they don't have, another words regardless what rights the government makes to better benefit the rights of all American people regardless the sexuality race, or religion, none of the 3 will ever be satisfied. I simply feel this way because that is the way it is.

As humans, we should all be treated with respect and not seclude certain groups just because some people might not understand their way of life. I feel any 2 consenting adults should be able to love and marry each other.

As for the religious issue, everyone is a sinner. People have sex outside of marriage, we lie, and betray our parents, there is adultery everywhere you look, and that's true for every sexual orientation. Yes, in the bible (if that is what you believe) it says a man laying with another man is a sin, but it also says all sins are equally bad. Who are you to say different?

homos are people therefore should have all the same HUMAN RIGHTS as str8 people, but don't. some homos are american citizens and so should have the SAME RIGHTS as ALL AMERICANS, but again, don't. the sadly forgotten american constitution says i should be free to pursue life liberty and happiness. it shouldn't have to be fought for or voted on. yet these rights are taken away as soon as i come out and be myself, even tho i am no danger to myself or others. i should have freedom of religion and separation of church of state. yet again, i don't. this country has pushed it's own adgenda on me through laws created by religions i do not subscribe to. by the way cat man, most child molesters are hetero caucasion men.
