Of the major sports globally There's a debate, although not much of a debate we invented ice hockey, in Nova Scotia in the 1800's. The first ever pro sports league that used the term "football" in its league name was the Canadian Football League in 1860. Including all of Europe and South American football (soccer leagues) James Naismith, a Canadian invented basked ball while living in Massachusetts So that leaves, in my opinion, baseball, rugby, and soccer and cricket. Personally I am a fan of all these sports expect basketball and cricket on some level. But, more so I'm a proud Canadian when I see a very small country, a very young country of on 30M people win at any of these sports on an international level. -We compete at the world baseball classic -We are the newest up and comers in the rugby world competition -A Canadian will be drafted 1st overall in the NBA draft this year, as well as two more Canadian in the rope 15 picks. -We don't play cricket and our soccer players are great but are managed by fools, organized by idiots, and are underfunded. -Last but not least we have 3 of the last 4 gold medals in Men's ice hockey, our ice hockey teams are worth more money then some epl teams. What we are best at, we defend, and the rest of the world will have to pry it from our cold cold ice cold, Canadian cold, dead hands. Now that's a sports Nation, go canada go!
